With Thanks To

We are deeply grateful to the countless individuals — former staff, volunteers, international donors, and faithful prayer warriors who have sown and watered our mission with heartfelt dedication, from toiling on our farm to uplifting us in prayer from afar.

As John 4:37-38 says, “One soweth, and another reapeth,” and your labors have enabled us to reap a harvest of transformed communities through agriculture, employment, and the Gospel, creating a lasting impact across Namikango village and beyond, even if your names remain unlisted here.

Like Paul and Apollos in 1 Corinthians 3:6-8, where one planted and another watered, “but God gave the increase,” your selfless contributions have planted seeds of hope, empowered families with food security, dignity through fair wages, and — most importantly, faith in Jesus Christ.

Though we cannot name each of you, your work has been integral to our thriving mission, and we honor your legacy with heartfelt thanks as God rewards your labor.

Ross Fleshman

Farm Operations (2021 - 2026)

Ross served as our Farm Operations Manager, among many other roles, until 2026.

He kept the farm running smoothly with countless hours of hard work and dedicated effort. He ensured the workers, tools, and fields were well-maintained, producing quality crops that helped feed families across Zomba and Malawi.

Ross wasn’t just a manager; he was part of our family. His work strengthened not only the farm but also the people of Namikango village, helping them grow spiritually from strength to strength.

We’re so thankful for his five years with us — his grit and spirit will remain part of our mission for years to come.

Mark Trotter

Pastor, Mentor, Brother in Christ

Mark Trotter (1957–2021) lived a life devoted to God’s Word, shaping his ministry as a pastor and mentor. Born in Miami, Florida, he graduated from Baptist Bible College and married Sherry in 1979. Together, they raised two children, Justin and Jacie, and cherished six grandchildren. Mark served 25 years at First Baptist, New Philadelphia, Ohio, before joining Northwest Bible Church in Columbus in 2007, focusing on equipping ministers, strengthening marriages, mentoring men, and advancing missions.

In 2010, Mark began training Malawian pastors in Zomba, addressing the spiritual needs of a nation scarred by poverty and HIV/AIDS. In 2016, he launched WordStrong Ministries, creating a three-year Bible course for over 1,000 pastors across eight regions. He traveled thrice yearly to lead conferences, producing materials for bi-monthly follow-ups by local pastors.

Mark’s joyful service, even through his cancer battle until his passing on February 20, 2021, empowered Malawian leaders to preach the Gospel.

His books, like The Keys of Bible Study, Things Above and 52 Weeks of Pursuit left a thriving legacy of faith that we utilize to this day
